The claim was that cyberattack information, explosives, and chemical synthesis pathways had been extracted. Amazon's security research team independently confirmed the same vulnerability, and CEO Andy Jassy called Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent directly.
Anthropic says this is a "misunderstanding." It argues that the same level of jailbreak is possible with other public models, including OpenAI GPT-5.5. Claude models other than Fable 5 and Mythos 5 are unaffected. The restoration date is unknown.

From Anthropic's position, its largest investor effectively reported the risks of its own model to the government.
Anthropic's pending IPO cannot be left out either. If export controls drag on, they will directly affect valuation. Sacks' statement expressing hope for a swift lifting of the controls can be read as a sign that the administration understands that burden as well.
