I had only heard stories about how he used to drink a quick glass of soju in a beer mug before falling asleep during his lonely days as a prosecutor; I only learned about his deep interest in science since childhood after reading the manuscript of this book.
He says his dream was to be a scientist, but he went to law school at his father's suggestion, became a prosecutor, and eventually a politician.
Although he drew attention with his gentle yet sharp questions at National Assembly hearings, he actually did a lot of work in the Science, ICT, Broadcasting, and Communications Committee during his time in the standing committees.
In this book, Chairman Kim Kyung-jin argues that enhancing human dignity is the progress of history and that the power of science has contributed to it. What he aims to achieve through politics is also to contribute to the continuous development of science and technology, along with solutions to South Korea's population problem,
he states. I actively support his will to contribute to leaving a mark in world history by becoming the 'Lamp of the East' and upgrading world civilization to the next level. He has moved his base of local activities from Gwangju to Dongdaemun, Seoul.
